Feeling adventurous? Combining the Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty Hike with the Cleland Wildlife Park is a great way to maximise your day while connecting with nature. Follow the 4km trek to the summit to enjoy the views then follow the trail 2km to Cleland and engage with Australia’s unique and curious wildlife!

08.00am from the pureSA office at 111 Franklin Street (The Joinery), Adelaide which is across from the Adelaide Central Bus Station. Please arrive 7.50am for check-in.
Selected City hotel pickup available upon request and scheduled between 7.40am – 7.50am, please be ready a few minutes prior.
Leaving from Cleland Wildlife Park at 3.00pm, arriving back at the pureSA office or your hotel from approximately 3.30pm.

This is a combination of the Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Summit Hike (WGH) and the Cleland Wildlife Park Experience (CWPE) tours. Please see specific tour notes for each.
Please dress appropriately to the weather and wear clothing and footwear suitable for bushwalking. Also bring sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhat, a full reusable drink bottle and a small backpack to carry personal items.
This tour does not cater to children under 12 years of age and is not recommended for young children. All
children must be accompanied by an adult.
* This tour includes the koala ‘close up’ experience. An optional koala ‘hold’ experience is available for an additional fee from $30pp. The koala ‘hold’ experience cannot be pre-booked. Please note that due to animal welfare regulations, the koala experiences can be cancelled by the park without notice, and do not operate on days forecast above 32 degrees Celsius in Mount Barker.
The Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Hike is graded as hard. It involves steep sections and uneven surfaces and a good level of fitness and mobility is required. The hike distance is 4km (ascent) to the summit and 2km (descent) to Cleland.
This combined tour is a great option for the adventurous experience seeker! Starting out on the self-guided Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Hike, trek to the summit to enjoy the panoramic views overlooking the Adelaide Plains and Gulf St. Vincent. Then follow the trail to Cleland Wildlife Park to spend the rest of the day engaging with some of Australia’s most unique and curious wildlife.
A short scenic drive from the City takes you direct to the trailhead of Adelaide’s most popular hike. Arriving around 8.30am and following an orientation by your guide, set off at your own pace on the well-marked trails. Depending upon your rest and interest stops along the way expect to take between 1 to 2 hours to arrive at the Summit. Be rewarded with some amazing views over Adelaide and beyond!

Just down from the Summit is another beautiful bush track leading to the Cleland Wildlife Park. Re-energise at the Cleland Gecko Café on arrival before exploring the 35-hectare park on the self-discovery trails. Walk among the free roaming animals in their natural environment, stop to hand feed the kangaroos and wallabies, be amazed at the lively wetland birds and be sure to visit Australia’s cutest inhabitants for the Koala ‘close up’ experience.
